Islamic World Painting Biennial to Be Held in Tehran

TEHRAN- The Second International Biennial of Contemporary Painting in the Islamic World will be held during the last month of autumn at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Academy of Art of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the 2nd International Biennial of Contemporary Painting in the Islamic World will be held through the cooperation of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the Academy of Art. The latest artistic works of Muslim artists will be displayed at the exhibition, which will be held in autumn for one month.

The biennial will consist of speeches, meetings, and discussions about the theories and basic principles of painting in the Islamic world, the status of art in Islamic countries, and the basic theories of Islamic art. A congress entitled "The Influence of Eastern Art on the Art of the West" will also be held.

The exhibition aims to bring together all the concepts of modern Islamic art and subjectively analyze the basic principles of spiritual art.

Works from Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Malaysia, China, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan and Ghana will be displayed at the biennial.

The jury of the biennial, which will include art professors from all over the world, will select the best works from among the works sent to the secretariat of the biennial.
